Help. Keep leaking wee

This started happening about a year ago it’s just horrible because by the end of the day I just feel disgusting because my pants stink of wee.

I have had 3 vaginal births, but the last one was nearly 4 years ago, so why has this only just started happening?

I have been doing the pelvic floor exercises regularly for years now, I can start and stop my flow and I believe they are strong, I have the weighted things you put in and I can use the smallest and heaviest one with no problem.

please can someone tell me what’s going on? It’s properly starting to get me down and I don’t understand what’s caused this at all. Is it simply aging? I’m not 40 yet but almost.

You need to see your GP for a referral to a gynae asap. You may need a specialist physio, but you need to be examined to see if this is a conditioned that requires exercise or surgery.

Really? Oh no. Why would it be this serious?

Because if you have young kids you have a long life ahead of you. There is a pretty good likelihood that if you don’t get this sorted before too long, it will actually worsen over time. You would be horrified to know the number of women my age (52) who I have known really well who are only now starting to discuss these issues. They have been suffering in silence and feeling ashamed instead of speaking about birth injuries (which this is undoubtedly caused by), and seeking help. There is help out there, and I imagine you want to be confident that this isn’t going to impact your activities for physical and mental health reasons.

Definitely go to GP, or women's health clinic, could be any number of things. Even if it's not serious, you could have it resolved by taking Oxybutynin and improve your mental health.

Also look up Elaine Miller aka Gussie Grips online. She's a 'fanny physio' and her mission is to get women dry and living their lives.

@gussiegrips on Twitter reminds me. She’s funny

Thank you all, I will go to the GP. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply

In the meantime you could try the Squeezy app to exercise your muscles.

thishedgehog · 31/08/2024 17:32

That’s the one I’ve been using for a few years now.

i honestly do pelvic floor exercises several times a day and especially driving to and from work. It don’t think this can be the issue

And maybe wear panty liners to save your pants too

thishedgehog · 02/09/2024 06:29

Yeah, I just didn’t want to have the extra plastic waste. But maybe I can get some reusable ones
