I wet the bed last night.

Thinking I probably need to see my GP but wondering what could have triggered this humiliating event and thinking about changes. Anyone else have ideas I can ask about?

I'm 55. Still having periods, becoming more irregular, not on at the moment. Have PCOS. Am obese. Carry my weight centrally so increased risk for diabetes. Stressed at the moment due to elderly parent stuff. Drinking too many days in a row but one glass/two units most nights. Mostly on decaf.

If you're thinking 'fgs don't ask here just see your GP' I guess that's reasonable....

Were you incredibly tired when you went to bed? Are you the kind of person who sleeps through anything? Did you consume a lot of fluids before bed? Were you dreaming about water or searching and finding a toilet, or maybe even a balloon popping? All these could be triggers, and if you feel uncomfortable about going to see the GP at this point, I would suggest making sure you always use the loo just before you switch out the light and only seek medical advice if it happens more than once. This could have been a one off.

Thanks mugglewump. Yes I was incredibly tired, I drove back from taking my FIL to a hospital appointment and actually fell asleep for a moment when driving which was terrifying. Pulled into a lay by and slept for ten minutes before going home. No idea about dreams, I often don't remember mine.

I did too the other night, out of the blue!
52 here. I slept too heavily with a full bladder and must have let a bit out in my sleep.
I had to tell DH "don't move to my side as I've wet the bed."
He was mildly amused but more, "Meh, you were just deeply asleep probably." when I was voicing how weird it was.

If this happens again, definitely get checked out at gp. The only sign of dh's T1 diabetes diagnosis was suddenly wetting the bed.
