Lumpy Boob

ladybird30 · 16/08/2024 13:44

Found a slightly thicker lumpy area in my right boob.

Pre-baby I'd always had lumpy bumpy fibro boobs but once I'd stopped BF they went very soft. They now seem to be returning back to their former selves but I've noticed the right side feels thicker than the left...

I've had quite a few head butt's, knees, elbows, punches, toys etc thrown at my boobs from the toddler so I wonder if he's managed to damage the tissue. He really launched a wooden toy at my right boob the other day that made my eyes water and I've noticed the thickening since then...

I'm due on next week so patiently (anxiously) waiting for that to see if it's, hopefully, just a hormonal thing. If not I'll be off to the GP.

Has anyone experienced similar? Think I'm just looking for positive stories from other lumpy boobed ladies 💐

One of my boobs is slightly "thicker" than the other, I noticed it recently - visited the GP who felt them both and said it was my "normal" and didn't feel like anything of concern

I hope that helps 😊 good luck, make sure you stay off of Dr Google as that didn't help me

@Moriartea Thank you, that's reassuring. This is boob panic #2 and I actually feel calmer this time round. A few months back I had a lump in my armpit that I had checked and I went into meltdown, trying not to do that this time! But yes Google is awful. As the women at the clinic said last time over 90% of the people she's sees are absolutely fine

Hi op yes I have always had lumpy boobs, it's common. I visited the GP as I was certain there was a change. They thought it was all normal (she called in a colleague for a second opinion) but sent me for a scan for reassurance, all came back normal. Remember the stats are on your side, majority of the lumps are innocent and efen those that need a biopsy they are mostly benign.

@tunapicklesandwich Thanks for sharing. Do you mind me asking what tests they did? I've had the ultrasound before but never a mammogram or anything else. Sometimes the not knowing what you're going in to have done can feel a bit daunting

So the GP first did a physical exam and was happy enough with it, but still sent me for a mammogram for reassurance. There was some density in one of the smallish lumps, the surgeon was 99.9% it was nothing, but requested a needle biopsy just in case. The don't do a that for lumps they say, most of the time they see that it's benign from the scan as far as I know

For most of the lumps sorry autocorrect!

I have a boob panic regularly because of my lumpy boob, sure that it's changed when in actual fact it hasn't. I also have breast tissue that goes up into my armpit that I've had checked several times just to make sure and each time I go into a bit of a spiral. I think we hear and see so much about breast cancer, with the check your boobs posters everywhere (which is a good thing obviously!) that it automatically becomes our first thoughts. Always good to get checked, it's really nice when health professionals give some reassuring statistics 😊

@Moriartea Horrible isn't it! But yes, we're certainly given the impression it'll be something bad a lot more often than it won't be. I feel pretty positive it won't be anything bad but there's always that tiny inkling of doubt isn't there. The little 'what if' voice
