PCOS DISAPPEARED?!

I'll try to keep this as short as possible but with all the relevant details.

I'm very confused and now left with even more questions than before.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 8 years ago whilst trying for DS1. Had 2 different tests from 2 different people, first said most likely but had to go back around ovulation etc. that test confirmed it.
I've been experiencing very heavy periods, pain, extreme exhaustion, dizziness etc so went to Drs to see if they could help manage etc. sent for ultrasound to check for anything abnormal only to be told I don't have PCOS (yet follicles are small and couple little cysts) but possible endometriosis but would have to have keyhole to be 100%.

The consultant said I don't have pcos and when I tried to ask how that could be possible considering I've had to have help convincing both my children and being told I do have it 8 years ago, she just kind of brushed it off and said well you don't have it.

Can it just go away? I'm so confused? Has anybody had anything similar happen and it was something else. I'm really struggling and feel like I'm not being taken seriously. I'm going back to Drs tomorrow but I just wondered if anybody could give me some advice.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

You can still have PCOS without actively having cysts. I have scans once/twice a year to check on things. One time I didn’t have any cysts but they said they could see little pits where they had been. And since then I’ve had them back in varying amounts 🤦🏻‍♀️
They definitely sound dismissive of you. Could you request to see a different Dr maybe?

The cystic follicles associated with PCOS can and do disappear, only to be replaced by further cystic follicles.

I would seek a second opinion along with having a day 2 blood test to compare your LH level against that of FSH, with PCOS there is often an excess of LH to FSH.
