So upset and angry

I’ve survived ovarian cancer. Three months ago I had surgery to reposition my bladder, it all went well. I have a blood clotting disorder, so post surgery I had blood thinners for two weeks. Six weeks later I’ve been diagnosed with multiple blood clots in both lungs. The nurse specialist said I should have had blood thinners for six weeks. I could have died. I’m now having a heart scan because my heart could be damaged. I feel broken. I’m breathless and completely worn out. I’m having a pity party, I can’t sleep and I just needed to vent. Thanks for reading.

It's hard to find the right words.

I'm happy that you survived ovarian cancer. I'm sorry that you are having a tough time now. I hope that you will feel better soon, and that you will have good results from your heart scan.

It's completely fine to have a pity party!
I wish you health and all the best!

@Axlimomguttset You are welcome.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Flowers After surviving ovarian cancer I'm not surprised you're upset and angry about now having unnecessary problems!
I hope the scan goes well. Is there treatment to clear the clots?

I’m injecting myself every night with an anticoagulant.

I’ve had so much worry over the last two years. My son of 45 left his wife and three young children and is now taking hormones and dressing as a woman. We’ve all been completely shocked and devastated by this.

Last year I started losing my eyesight in my left eye. A blood clot had blocked a vein and blood was leaking into my eye. I suddenly had, what I thought were floaters. Anyway, my macular is damaged so I’m having regular scans at the eye hospital. Last time there was some further deterioration.

Finally I got my surgery to reposition my bladder. Things feel so much better in that area, no more accidents, which is amazing.

And then I go and nearly die from blood clots in my lungs.

I just want it all to stop. 😭

It may be worth clarifying the decision making with your haematologist & surgeon. 6 weeks would be a relatively unusual duration of post-op thromboprophylaxis even for someone high risk (or had your haematologist specifically advised 6 weeks before the operation?). It's very easy to say that the course should have been longer with the eye of hindsight, but it may not have been such a daft decision when you consider all the variables that were known at the start. Hope you're feeling better soon.

After my cancer surgery, I injected Enoxaparin for six weeks. After my recent surgery I expected the same but the gynae surgeon only prescribed two weeks worth. I have Factor V Leiden, which means I am more likely to get blood clots.
