Deoderant Reliance/dependance ?

I have been reading about this and it is so interesting.
Of course not a dependence or addiction, but the claim is that we end up being more smelly y using deoderant.

Healthy bacteria - which keep the odour away- are killed by the use of strong chemicals found in perspirant, so we end up smelling more, then use more deoderant..
I understand that some of us do have problems of sweating heavily and may need these products, but do we all?

I have used anti perspirants for decades, a morning routine of showering, drying and application.

For the past 8 years I have used no deoderant or anti perspirant, and don't feel the need to.
I wash every morning, and sometimes a light dusting of unperfumed talc. During the course of the day no snell develops- and that includes a daily gym session -so I do sweat. I have a very acute sense of smell and a directly spoken 24 year old daughter who tells it like it is, she would be the first to let me know.

Just stopping the use of these products won't stop the need for them- apparently- the good bacteria need time to re-establish, which may take weeks or months- but it will.

I realise that one person's experience may not be reflected in everyone, but it is very interesting. Any other similar experience?
