TW PICTURE - C section scar looking like this after 2 years?

CatOnALightSwitch · 19/07/2024 22:50

Does anyone know why it's looking like this?

I've tried to crop it as much as I can so no one can see my vagina but it's really sore and irritable and was wondering what I could do to make it less painful?

Thank you

I'm not sure but if you have sudacrem I'd use it tonight then check with pharmacist/Dr tomorrow

If it's sore I would have your GP take a look at it.

Weirdly this happened to me yesterday/today

18 months ago c section

i went to a private gp who prescribed me antibiotics and fusidic acid, because I had a similar issue last year and turned out to be a serious infection

this doesn’t seem as bad but would rather nip it in the bud

so call gp tomorrow

it could be the hot weather - mine still gets a bit red and itchy eight years on in the heat. Try washing it with plain water and using your hairdryer to dry it (on a cool setting)

Looks like a fungal infection,do you have any canesten cream? Sudacreme is good too in the meantime. It'll be the hot weather.

AppleStrudel23 · 19/07/2024 23:20

It's a fungal infection, can be treated by cream from the GP! The trick is to keep all folds and places like that dry. I use cornflour/cornstarch after drying off after the shower and even if a sweat a ton I don't get that issue anymore. I get this under my breasts too

18 years down the line and I still get this in hot weather. I put E45 on and that makes a huge difference.

veritusvarity · 19/07/2024 23:39

Is it skin on skin contact? Likely to be fungal, sweat builds between two bits of skin, air can't circulate and can result in sore, itchy (and sometimes smelly) fungal infection. If it's skin on skin, then use something like a folded silk hanky (or small silk scarf) between the two folds of skin. It'll stop any chaffing, absorb the sweat and ease the irritation. But get it looked at by a pharmacist or nurse first to double check, and prescribe anything that might be needed.
