Corpus luteum cysts with a septation

Hi guys anybody got any advice or been through the same. I had a trans vag ultrasound in December 2023 it showed I had a corpus luteum cyst with a septation and ring of fire. I will attach a photo of my notes on the page. I'm worried as i became pregnant in March this year and pregnancy all seems well and as I'm getting the odd twinge on the side where this corpus luteum cyst would have been and have been on and off still since December I'm wondering if it's still there or if it's even got worse!! Can these kind of cysts turn into cancer. Any advice would be welcome x

Not a doctor, but Corpus luteum cysts are completely normal and lots of women get them from time to time.

After an egg leaves the follicle the follicle produces hormones that support any pregnancy (if you are pregnant it does this until the placenta has taken over, which is I think 9 weeks along or so). Sometimes it then turns onto a cyst but these normally go away within a few months.

Occasionally corpus luteum cysts can be painful or cause other problems but I think they'd have noted any obvious issue in your scan and discussed it with you. Why don't you flag the twinges you are getting to your midwife for reassurance?

thankyou for your advice. I have a midwife appt on Tuesday 18th so I'm going to bring it up with her and maybe they can check it at the 20 week anamoly scan. I'm just concerned with the septation in it and the peripheral vascularity blood flow.
