24 hour blood pressure monitor?

Has anyone had this?

How big is it? Is it loud?

Can you get false readings? Having it done when I’m not at work because I don’t want to talk about it with work, but I think being away from work will lower my blood pressure!

tried 3x and it had an error within an hour or so of leaving the hospital each time, so I had absolutely no luck with mine.

I had one…not that loud. Not sure about false readings. I wore it at work as they recommended that you have them a representation of a normal day etc. nobody has to know, you don’t have to talk about it. Although I had to run it by my manager for health and safety reasons due to my job.

Mine was loud and uncomfortable. I wore it at work but that did make my BP skyrocket. I'm a teacher so I couldn't really follow the very precise instructions to sit still and be quiet.

Night time is the worst...

I’ve had a few. First one my blood pressure was so high that I started getting blood shots from the cuff feeling too tight.
Second one was fine but honestly a tad uncomfortable. It’s not incredibly noisy but it is noticeable. I was encouraged to try continue my day as normal and not to avoid work as they wanted to get the most accurate reading. I also had to keep a short diary of what I was doing that day.

Also a teacher so wasn’t able to sit down when it was doing a reading but my cardiologist knows this so understood it would impact the readings.

I had one this week from the local pharmacy.
It was pretty small (cuff around the upper arm and small monitor in a pouch strapped around the waist). It wasn't particularly noisy, but it did wake me up several times through the night.

When the results were analysed it only had one failed reading over the 24 hours.

Oh, and I figured out how to make mine a sash and put the monitor in my pocket which was miles better.

Piggywaspushed · 14/06/2024 21:55

Also... mine showed readings in some weird format that I thought meant it was faulty so I kept fiddling with it...

It’s hard. I think my blood pressure shoots up due to stress, but it could be generally high. The dr wanted it doing asap due to other symptoms. I want it to be as accurate as possible.
