Does anyone have any experience with tests for precancerous cells in the cervix?
I'm wondering whether a transvaginal ultrasound can detect the changes / abnormal cells that form precancer in the cervix, in the same way colposcopy testing does?
I've had a lletz procedure to remove cells, quite a few years ago. I have since been discharged from the colposcopy clinic.
Since then I've had a baby, a tonne of stress and I've had (very) slight bleeding in between periods. Along with a bit of odd soreness that I can't describe and shooting pains, plus weird discharge.
So I'm just reaching out to ask if anyone has had changes to cells show up in an ultrasound with the wand...?
I'd of liked to be referred back to colposcopy but the GP have booked me in to see a man for an ultrasound in the GP surgery. It also says on the form that I can't take anyone in with me.
Side question: do you think I can ask for a female nurse to be in there? Not sure I like the idea of just me and him...
I will call the GP and ask about the nurse situation but just want to know if anyone has any knowledge they can share?
Thanks in advance.
