Doctor says no UTI, but...

Hey, so I've had recurrent UTIs this year which have then turned into kidney infections and a lot of pain. I've been given antibiotics twice but each time it comes back after a couple of weeks so it obviously didn't treat it fully.

After the last round, within a week or so the burning sensation/ need to wee a lot came back so I called the doctor and they asked me to do a urine test. They sent it off to the lab and said it came back clean, but the discomfort is still here.

I'm wondering if at this point if there's anything I can do at home to help as the doctor doesn't want to give me any treatment. I'm trying the Cystitis Relief sachets but they're not helping.

Has anyone else had anything similar that either turned out to be something that's NOT a UTI or found a way to relieve the symptoms through something like diet instead? This has been going on for months now and I'm just desperate to get back to normal!

Thanks in advance ☺️

It's worth reading about Painful Bladder Syndrome (used to be called Interstitial Cystitis). When I had this after a horrendous bout of infection I cut absolutely everything that might cause bladder irritation out of my diet (went completely bland) then slowly added things back in as I felt able. I'm back to normal now with the occasional minor flare up but it took time. There are a couple of threads running with more advice, have a search (sorry can't link, in a rush but didn't want to not answer). You should consider seeing a private urologist if you're struggling with it and/or you think there may still be infection present.

Hi. How old are you?

I rang my surgery said I was peeing firstly hourly then every 30 minutes, increasing all the time, till it was every few minutes,no burning, but severe pain in the bladder area. I also couldn't hold on. Was told to take a urine sample in to the surgery the following Monday, I was sure it wasn't a UTI. Sample came back negative. Finally got GP appointment not mine. She said it gave me antibiotics, which of course did nothing, not did analgesics
After 12 days of hardly being able to move because of the pain, went to the ED. had a CT with contrast. Turned out I had inflammation of the gut which passes near the bladder, Paniculitus and mesenteric inflammation, caused by previous abdo and a cystocele. I'm not saying this is what is causing your problem. Course the GP assumed it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, but it wasn't a duck.
