Hi,
I think I've been horribly naïve, I thought a hysteroscopy looked for certain cancers and could determine whether a fibroid was a polyp. Am I wrong? My situation was I was told no fibroid existed (even put this on a discharge letter) and had the coil inserted which is now an infection and referral to specialist clinic to get it removed as failed on gas and air first time round and said only see one string. It went in by ga and sadly strong pelvic floor so I'm imagining it won't be easy coming out.
I'm halfway through the waiting time for results of the apparent hystero and when calling the hospital where I had this procedure done to check I am ok with another hospital, they are talking about endometriosis? Can you get that temporarily from the coil being infected? The original consultant who did the procedure has gone off on really long leave it seems.
I've booked a private scan without the need for a GP referral for next week as the GP just insists a scan was done in May 23 and that showed a fibroid and that's it. I did note one of the private clinics saying if you are slightly overweight that can distort an image.
