Should I be worried about peri menopause at 35?

I’m on the mini pill cerezette and for the past 2 weeks I have been having random hot flushes. It has been very cold around here and I usually struggle to keep warm but even at 2 degrees Ive been sweating. My cheeks are permanently red from the heat and if anyone puts the heating on in the house I have to swap to wear a vest and shorts. I have also had light bleeding when I wipe for the past 5 days.

This has never happened to me before I have been on the mini pill for years without issues so why now?
I am definitely not pregnant as not sexually active and I haven’t missed a pill or taken antibiotics.
I am worried I could be starting the menopause early as I have pcos and I’ve always had issues with periods and ovulation. I’m finished having children now but it’s still not a nice matter to consider at this age.
Can anyone help?

Any unusual bleeding should be checked out.
At what age did your mum start?

Flanjango · 28/02/2024 21:27

As above all unusual bleeding needs checking just to be safe. I started PM early about 38 and now 50 am completely done. My mum was the same.

I read that women tent to follow a pattern of how it was for their mothers. So if your DM was relatively early with it, it could be. Other than that, make sure your smears are up to date.

I believe she was early 40s but she’s no longer here for me to ask. I am due a smear test in April so I’ll get that booked asap. Google thinks a hormone imbalance causing a break through bleed which sounds more reassuring than it being menopause. Does anyone know if the test at home kits are accurate to determine menopause?
