I’m 50 and noticed some odd things around my private area?
I had sex with DH yesterday after a month ( have sex usually once per month or so) so I am not sure if this is related but today it feels weird, like I was on my knees just now searching for something underneath the table and as soon I got on my fours- something inside my vag felt like it got pulled in, that kind of sensation…
Like a pop in?
worry now it was my uterus sort of prolapsed into my vag? It just feel all weird feeling. Anyone experienced this?

Hello, there's a really

Thank you, I just checked the video. I just tried to checked myself by hand if I can feel anything but I am not Gynea dr.. I will give it few days just in case it’s sensitive from the intercourse and I will see.

I had a baby 10 weeks ago and I’ve got the same it just occasionally feels like there’s something there and it goes bacK in. The GP said rather than be a prolapse per se it could
just be some slight laxity of the vaginal wall. I think this might also be common with menopause with drops in estrogen etc. go to
your gp, they may refer you to a physio. Mine has helped.

So I just sort of examined myself again, and I felt some soft movable bulge inside my vagina, I never put fingers in there before so I’m not familiar if it’s supposed to be there or not, I could push it back and forward, it was in my front vaginal wall.
I couldn’t feel any pain..
Also I went repeatedly on my fours and noticed this strange sensation, like something gets pulled in and out.
Im so worried now, contacted my gp by requesting a form, god knows when they get black to me..

Please don't worry. Prolapses are very common. More than 50% of women who've had children will get a prolapse. I have the triple whammy of bladder, bowel and uterine prolapse and I'm just fine.
At your age (my age too) oestrogen levels plummet. Oestrogen strengthens the vaginal walls so many women with prolapses don't even notice them until their 50s. Once oestrogen levels drop the vaginal walls become much weaker and people become aware of the prolapse bulges. You may just need to do some pelvic floor exercises. There are also surgical options or you could wear a pessary.
Ask to be referred to a urogynocologist because they really know a lot about prolapses. I'm sorry to say that many GPs are very ignorant about prolapses and are likely to give incorrect information.

Droolylabradors · 20/02/2024 12:20

Hi OP. I'm 46 and had rectocele and cystocele diagnosed 12 months ago, caused by two traumatic births, plus then menopause made the prolapse become apparent.

I had also never felt inside my vagina, I only got diagnosed because I started getting stress incontinence occasionally.

I'd say go and see a pelvic physio before your GP. They can assess you better and give advice on how big any prolapse is. If less than grade one, you can fix it with physio.

Mine is grade 2/3 so I'm stuffed.

Thank you ladies.
as I said I don’t even know what it is, I only noticed it today literally like the morning after we had sex,it wasn’t nothing out of order, it was over in less 1 minute so I can’t be any injury or anything..
The bulge could to be something serious like vaginal cancer, I had abnormal smear in 2005, this was treated by letz also I had only one birth - section.

I now wonder if that was my bladder as now I could feel as I re investigated after I went for wee and I can’t feel any soft bulges at all there.
Does it mean the bladder got prolapsed? have no any incontience or anything like that.

A bulge at the front wall can be a bladder prolapse. I have one and no incontinence or anything. Doesn't cause me any symptoms

I went to see Gp today and he examined me and said he couldn’t see any prolapse but based on what I told him it could be prolapse even if not visible?
He referred me to the physio clinic.

GPs aren't good at spotting prolapses -and prolapses move around too. I'm hoping the physio is a pelvic floor specialist. They'll definitely be able to tell if you have a prolapse. Good luck OP - hopefully it's not a prolapse but if it is, you'll be fine.

Notnewbie · 21/02/2024 16:48

@SallyWD does the physio perform internal examination too? Or how does it work there? I asked the gp and he didn’t know anything, he was very young..

Yes I was referred to a urogynacologist first who examined me, confirmed the prolapse then he referred me to a pelvic floor physio.
I think I went for about 6 weeks. She examined me each time and assessed my pelvic floor strength by getting me to squeeze when her fingers were inside (so dignified!). She gave me pelvic floor exercise to do which I'd do there and at home. She also used this machine on me - something like a Kegal 8 which stimulates the muscles. You put a probe inside and then it kind of buzzes and gives the muscles a work out. I ended up buying one myself.

Powerplant · 21/02/2024 17:06

Ive recently been diagnosed with mild prolapse and was advised by gp to get the Squeezy app for pelvic floor exercises, self refer to women’s health physio - still waiting to hear back so may go private. GP said a couple of visits would be really helpful she also recommend Pilates for core stability which I’ve also recently started. It’s really scary to find lumps/bulges it was the second GP who could feel it but that was because I was standing not lying on the examination bed.

susansaucepan · 22/02/2024 09:12

@SallyWD would you be so kind as to link the machine you bought?

SallyWD · 22/02/2024 09:27

Hi, yes it was this https://amzn.eu/d/fccndo8
It has several different programmes including one for prolapse. It definitely strengthens the pelvic floor muscles and tightens everything up down there. Since I bought it ten years ago they're created even more sophisticated models but I was impressed with this one.
