Hopefully I'm posting in the correct place at the beginning of January I went for my cervical smear, and 3 weeks later I received a letter saying high risk hpv had been detected and Borderline nuclear changes in squamous cells, did also note on my nhs app TZ sampling ABSENT although I'm not entirely sure what that means, and that I have been referred directly to the Colposcopy clinic the letter said if I hadn't received a letter in 4 weeks to contact my doctor.
How long roughly have people waited for an appointment following these sort of results. I understand borderline changes are very small changes and are very close to normal and likely to go away on their own, however with the detection of the high risk hpv they do need to do a further check up to make sure. However the past year I have been having pain in that region that I kind of brushed off thinking well my previous smears have been fine so I doubt it's anything serious. It's hard to describe what this pain feels like, it feels as if there is something inside that down below region that is just grabbing my insides and not letting go. Over the year some of the time it's been there like a constant dull feeling but hasn't caused me much pain that I've just got on with it, other times it is complete agony that can make me want to cry and I will have to take painkillers to ease, over the last few days it's the worst I've ever been in pain over whatever this feeling is,. This has been accompanied with leg and back pain, more recently sex has started to feel uncomfortable.
Has anyone ever experienced this that could shred some insight, surely small changes to cervical cells wouldn't case quite extreme pain? Would it be wise to speak to a gp over it all and see if they could get the clinic to see me quicker?
