Please help me before I continue down the wormhole of Dr Google.

I am 40, I have a 12 year old son who was 10lb at birth. I was told I had a prolapse (not sure what sort but I can find out on NHS app where my notes are). They were going to operate but cancelled as the ban on mesh came into force around 2018.

I'm not overweight. I have a good diet. I do have regular bouts of thrush. Since october I have been bleeding, none stop. Sometimes brown old blood, sometimes pink, during periods VERY VERY heavy. But always blood every day. I have been to the GP - I have had STI tests - clear. She said beginning of January I will be referred for scan - this has yet to come through. I'm awaiting a date for smear though last one was clear.

What could this be? Between the thrush and bleeding I am almost ripping my hair out and although I know it's silly, I can't help but wonder what it is and then googling.

I have been described as having a 'bulky' uterus before if this makes any sense to anyone.

Could anyone help with perhaps past experience or anything to put my mind at ease.

I have some very small but bothersome fibroids which bleed a lot. They are very common and almost always not a health risk per se, but they are really fucking annoying. Mine have recently bled for 3 months after starting estrogen hrt.

Push for the scan, it sounds like the endometrial lining might be thick, so you’d need some progesterone to thin it.
But you need the scan to know. Contact the scan department to see how long you will wait, and check they got your referral/

Thank you both. I'm not normally anxious over health but it's day in day out now and just a bit worrying.

Would be worth asking for your iron to be checked too.
