Wondering whether I may have endometriosis?

I have always had heavy periods, i have in the past had to take transexamic acid for flooding and big clots (TMI sorry).. I never though, have period pains. What I have started getting in the last 6 months or so (not every month) right around ovulation is horrendous backache (lower) which goes into my legs and isn't helped by paracetamol or ibuprofen.. I get pelvic pain, feel so sick and bloated and get really bad indegestion too as well as tiredness.

I had a CA125 done a few months ago which was normal and have had a normal ultrasound in October.

I am in my 'fertile week' at the moment and it is now thursday and ive had all of this since monday and im feeling lousy.

Does this sound like endo?

You need to see a gynaecologist and if it is within your financial means to see one as a private patient for an initial consultation I would do this. I suggest this too as waiting lists for gynaecology are miles long in many areas of the UK. It would be an idea to keep a daily pain and symptom diary if you do not already do this as this would give a gynae clues.

I have endo and found tranexamic acid tablets to be totally ineffective re flooding and clots.

Any pain that is cyclical in nature and or gets worse up to and including menses should be checked out to see if endometriosis is present. Both fibroids and endometriosis can cause flooding and clots so both should be checked for here.

Endometriosis can also infiltrate the bowels so this needs further investigation in any event. Blood tests and internal ultrasounds do not detect endo if it is there and is usually diagnosed via laparoscopy (keyhole surgery).
