Do you have a ring pessary ?

I have just found out I have a prolapse and been told I will need a ring pessary.
If you have one what is your experience of it ? How does the fitting go , is it painful ?
Can you feel it's there ? I think the GP said they are replaced every few months ?
Do you just leave that to them or is there also care we do ourselves etc ?
Appreciate any info you can pass on .

I've had one for about a year now and it is the best thing I've ever done. It immediately took away the pressured feeling in my bladder and almost immediately massively reduced the stress incontinence.
Fitting is really simple - they do an internal to get the right size and then it's folded, placed inside and you forget about it! They do make you have a wee afterwards though just to check it's all in place and not blocking anything.
I don't touch mine again until I go and get it replaced every 6 months and it is well worth it.
I got a new partner about 3 months after having it fitted and I did have to have a conversation about 'something being there' - but it was fine and we still have an active sex life - he says he barely notices it. It actually increased my confidence as I didn't have to worry about any leaks when being physical.

Thanks for that , the Dr gave me a prescription to get 2 ( different ) sizes and to 're book an appointment when I get them.

I collected them ( was given a script for 2 to see the best fit ) and am booked in next Friday at the Drs . They look like curtain rings 😂 😂

So I had it fitted today , and within 3 hours it had come out , phoned my Drs. and was given another appointment today ( couldn't believe that ! )
She put another one in but can now also feel that one almost at the entrance of my vagina , that's not normal surely ?

It might take one or two goes to get the right size .
Bear with the feeling it near entrance- that might go (I seem to remember after a week or so it felt different)- or you might well need a different size.
I found it so worth persevering- once I got the right one it's been brilliant, really changed my life.

It sometimes takes several tries before you get the right size

Thank you for this.
I'm going to see my GP next week for another bladder examination.
I do have urge incontinence and also a child size bladder.
I had a prolapse after my hysterectomy 28 years ago.. but not sufficient enough .
Just had medication all these years.
Hopefully a ring will work for me and l can avoid further surgery .

I will wait and see then, thanks for the advice.

I have one for exercising or walking long distances. Couldn't imagine leaving it in, I can't poo with it in anyway and it slips out sometimes.

I got one as uro gynae said it would help with my stress incontinence. It doesn't, but it does take the pressure off if I go for a hike.

And mine is silicone I just pull it out and then squeeze it back in when I need it.
