Should I be concerned about this? Pic attached

Hi, had this roundish mark on my breast for about 6 weeks. It has increased in size a bit. It feels very dry. I can't tell if it's itchy as I have no feeling there. This is normal. It's so difficult to get a gp appointment but just wondering if I should be concerned.
I can't feel any lumps.

I would get an appointment for that. Do an econsult and attach the photo.

I don't think my gp has e consult. Maybe I could email reception and attach the pics. I've been trying to get an appointment for it for about a month. Because I have no sensation there I didn't want to waste anyone's time because I really don't know if it's itchy or painful.

I'd get an appointment sorted, but in the interim maybe try ketoconazole shampoo - you use it as a body wash, let the suds sit on the skin for a few minutes (instructions are in the box!) in case it's a fungal thing? You can get it in a pharmacy.

Any patches elsewhere on your body?

Is it possible to give the breast clinic a call? I had a similar red mark which turned out to be nothing to worry about but the clinic did ask me to come in and have it checked.

When at the clinic I had an ultrasound scan and a thorough examination. They didn’t give me any indication that I was making more of it than I should so I would get it checked to be on the safe side.

Your mark looks very similar to mine so I’m sure it will be nothing sinister.

Thanks, I will look up the wash.
No, it's just there. Nowhere else. It just appeared over a couple of days. I just thought it was a reaction or just a rash but it's showing no signs of going.

Oh, I didn't know I could give them a call. I will look that up.
I don't want to waste anyone's time but I think 6 weeks is long enough.

Breast clinic referral only annoyingly.

Get it checked - a lasting rash should always be checked out. I think that is probably OK, though. I’ve had breast cancer twice and there were no lumps at all. I don’t think you can call a breast clinic direct if you are not already a patient, though. Phone for a GP appointment and say you are worried about breast cancer.

GodspeedJune · 16/12/2023 10:40

I also thought something fungal but definitely worth getting checked out.

Digestivechocolatebiscuit · 16/12/2023 10:40

You can't refer yourself to the breast clinic unfortunately. I usually e mail my surgery with photos of anything like that.. for the attention of ( GPs name) l had a breast abcess.. then l got a letter for the breast clinic within 2 weeks) .

dottiedodah · 16/12/2023 10:56

I had a small red lump, absolutely terrified! Waited 2 weeks then called GP .Saw me that morning! Turned out to be a harmless cyst . Drained and 2 weeks of antibiotics prescribed .All fine .Do make an appt ,put your mind at rest .Or if a problem needs to be dealt with

Petrine · 17/12/2023 10:49

I definitely didn't get referred by my GP I just called the breast clinic direct. This was a couple of years ago though so perhaps with the massive wait times now things have changed.

I hope you get a quick referral OP.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/12/2023 10:55

Looks classic fungal rash, I'd use some anti fungal cream and then see the GP if it doesn't improve.

thankyouforthedayz · 17/12/2023 14:10

I think that's Ringworm, which is not a worm, it's a really common fungal infection of the skin. I had it and it vanished overnight with cream. Ask a Pharmacist - they may be able to see you on the minor ailments scheme and give you something. But get it checked obvs.
