Very painful ovulation.

I'm just wondering how common this is? As I have aged, my ovulation seems to get more painful. I used to think that I had a sensitive bladder, but what I realised, once I was TTC and tracking ovulation, was that my bladder and lower abdomen on one side gets really sore/irritated during ovulation. So I get a day where I need to pee frequently because my bladder feels sore, and my abdomen feels tender on the side that I'm ovulating on. There's usually a niggling pain there too, for a few hours last month it was extremely painful for about 30mins, to the point I was actually letting out the odd 'owwww' and I had to take some paracetamol.

Is this normal, or should I be concerned? I'm 43 BTW.

I'd forgotten about ovulation pain (to the extent of jumping in shock and saying 'Owwww') and additional urination.

Post-menopause here, no ongoing symptoms.

It’s normal for a lot of people but could also be endometriosis.

I have it too, it's awful. I've only had it in the last few months as I came off the pill and had a coil put in. I think I'm just going to ask to go back on any pill that will stop me ovulating because it's miserable. I'm 44.

I suffered with this amongst other pains during the course of my cycle and it was due to endometriosis. Might be best to get the ball rolling with your GP to get to the root of the pain as endometriosis is notorious for taking a long time to be diagnosed.
