I've had results that show cancer and pre cancer and been asked if I want a hysterectomy
I'm 46 not having any more kids have had one by c section
I'm thinking yes to hysterectomy
Obviously need more discussion with medics just wondering about other people's experiences of something similar x

No experience of this op, but bumping for you.

I personally, if was offered a hysterectomy, would take it if I had cervical cancer.

Good luck x

I had a radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer. I was 31 years.

It was the ‘only’ treatment I needed. Invasive abdominal surgery with a long recovery but I’m well 18 years later so no regrets. No choice either to be honest, that was my only real option at the time.

I have had prolapse issues because they also removed my cervix and the top of my vagina but I also had 2 large babies prior to the surgery so may have had the same issues anyway.

I kept my ovaries because of my age but have now started HRT. I went to a menopause specialist for HRT because I needed someone who knew their stuff and could give me balanced advice about the risks.

All the best with whatever you choose.

Thanks for your reply.
Sorry to hear you went through this but thankfully you've been treated and well looked after. Your story is reassuring. I just need to know a bit more about what's going on at the moment in my body but sounds like hysterectomy is a good result despite the possible side effects. Hope you manage the prolapse ok!
