Could it be Lichen Sclerosus?

Reaching out to fellow sufferers to ask whether the characteristic white plaques are always present in an LS diagnosis? My dc has been diagnosed by a consultant vulval derma a year ago and I'm now showing symptoms of increased itch, UTI-like symptoms (but not a UTI) such as burning, tingling, stinging and paper-cut like sensations. The area is a bit paler than the surrounding area but not as white as my dc presented. I don't have sores or any such issues, only a tiny white patch that I can see.

Is this likely LS? I know I'll have to get it checked.

Thanks!

Yes. I have LS and it is just tiny light patches. As soon as I put the cream on it went- within 48 hours after 2 years of trying about 6 different things prescribed by the GP before that. Try the cream- if it fixed it then it is LS.
Paper cut sensation is a good description.

It was Clobetasol (dermovate) .

Thanks for your reply. Do you mean the symptoms disappeared or the actual white patches? My daughter's white patches took months to disappear but I suspect yours is probably a milder case.

Can you pass LS to a partner?

The itching went and the shininess of the patches- so it just looks like a very slightly lighter skin. I also have it in my hair and a tiny bit on my arm.

No- it is an autoimmune skin condition not a sexually transmitted infection
