Still HPV positive after 4 years...

Hi everyone,

Quick backstory, I tested positive for HPV I think in 2019 after I had my first baby. After 3 years of HPV but no cells, I then had CNI1 & CNI2 cells removed via biopsy. Consultant said he thought he had got them all (an excisional biopsy) but come back in 6 months to check. I then fell pregnant with baby number 2 who is now 3 months old so I've just had that follow up appointment today after 18 months, not 6 (consultant said I was fine to go ahead and have a baby).

Result was HPV positive but no high grade cells, I'm now waiting for results to understand if there are any cells and if so, are they CNI1, 2 or both and what happens next.

I'm just feeling quite emotional about it to be honest. In the past 5 years I've had two babies, three miscarriages, a third degree tear, episiotomy, all this going on with HPV. I don't mean to sound like I'm moaning but I just wish I could draw a line under it all now. A lot of feelings come up for me when I go to the hospital.

Has anyone had HPV that finally went away after this amount of time? I'm wondering if because my body has been through a lot in the past few years maybe I'll have a better chance of fighting it off now?

I had cin2 removed in 2010 but back then they didn't routinely test for hpv so I don't know when it went but it did as once they started testing for it I was negative
However after pregnancy 3 years ago it came back again and now I have cin1
I can't offer any guarantees but I know it can go
Now, I am really ramping up my healthy eating and vitamin intake
I won't hold my breath but what I have noticed is that a decades old verruca has cleared , they are also hpv so I'm hoping I can clear it but who knows .
I'm sorry for your losses and all this stress. Your immune system will have taken a battering for sure
It really sucks being a woman sometimes .

Yes, I had CIN 2 and 3 cells removed via a LLETZ procedure and then some years later I had cleared the HPV. I think it can take some time!

Hi! I haven't had HPV for that long (fingers crossed i wont!) but for my last two smears I've tested positive for it, last year was fine just HPV no abnormal cells, but this year my follow up was HPV positive again with "borderline changes", I'm booked in to have a colposcopy on 1st November..

I was told about AHCC supplement, which i ordered online (time health) apparently its supposed to have a good rating for clearing HPV in a few month. I've been taking it since my abnormal results which was about 2 week ago so i don't think ill see any results on the colposcopy, but hoping that the next one i might!

Worth a try :)

@LJSmith1991 I'm trying that too
But it's so expensive

I have been HPV positive since my first ever smear in 2014. I also had CIN1 which returned to normal after 6 months. Went back to a 3 year. I was then still HPV+ so was on annual recall. In 2022 I went from HPV+ to CIN3 cells. I had them removed via Lletz and turned HPV negative. So in my experience, it was the removal of part of my cervix that took the virus away rather than my immune system clearing it.

I was also told if I was HPV+ on 3 consecutive annual smears that I would be called to colposcopy anyway so they could take a closer look as the smear is only a sample of cells and they may miss abnormalities. But I was positive anyway for abnormal cells.

I know what you mean, i currently just bought the 60 tablets for around £22 but taking only 2 a day means its every 30 days another purchase needs to be made.

And i wanted to go up to 3 or 4 but far too expensive for that haha

Where do you buy the AHCC supplement from? When I look online some of the websites seem a bit dodgy.

Apparently there's a new Italian supplement mix called 'Pervistop' (yes, really...!!) that has had good results in two limited studies. I read the journal articles and I'm not totally convinced by the methodology (they don't seem to have been properly blinded with a placebo) and it was only a study of 40 people, but the supplements are easily available from Holland and Barrett so I reckon worth a try. The main one was something called Epigallocatechin Gallate, or EGCG.

EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate): Benefits, Dosage, and Safety

EGCG is a plant compound particularly prominent in green tea that's linked to several benefits. This article reviews EGCG, including its health benefits and possible side effects.

I got mine from TimeHealth also
I'm not going to hold my breath but it is interesting my verrucas seem to have cleared recently .
One I had for well over 10 years, didn't realise what it was for most of that time . Had been using the usual methods for months and the bloody thing just wouldn't go , and then I ended up getting one on my thumb too ! And that was a nightmare trying to treat . But since I stated taking the AHCC and other supplements they seem to have gone, fingers crossed .

grayolas · 12/10/2023 23:04

Mine went away after about 7 years I think it was! It does happen Smile

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 12/10/2023 23:27

I had the injection privately after getting one type of hpv (I got a private test) and it went away by next smear. The hospital doctor said it might actually have helped fight it (not sure of the science behind this) but there hasn't been trials so they cousins recommend or offer if.
So if you can afford it it might be worth paying for injection. I also paid as I was single and expecting to meet new penises in the future therefore exposure to new hpv - as you're in a presumably monogamous marriage it might be less worth it for you

miamiamia869 · 02/02/2024 17:17

Hiya. I had abnormal smear on my first ever but no hpv

Next one I has both

I've had hov for 7 years now. I hate it. Last colo she done a small biopsy and just recently had another 1 year on. She said the CIN1 cells had clearer but hpv still there.

Waiting on official results.

Soo ennoying what don't holland and Barratt do ahccc. I'm trying for a baby so don't want to take anything yet but if I do have one straight after I'm going to get som ahccc.

Keep us all updated in this thread if anyone clears is. The clearing of your vuruccas sounds promising as it'd part of the same family isn't it x

Redlarge · 02/02/2024 17:54

I had it for a year. Treated it with shitaki mushroom supplements and it was clear after a year.

miamiamia869 · 02/02/2024 20:04

@Redlarge where did you get them from please?
