I've done a few threads now but they don't seem to be getting picked up I'm hoping this one does 🙏🏻

I'm 33 - 3 children. For the last 4 periods I've had crippling trapped wind on the first day or 2 of my period. Never had this before the pain is unbearable. Since having my daughter who is now turning 2 I've not been on any contraception so I do get symptoms of ovulation. Sore boobs twinges in my ovaries etc. so I went to the doctors and had a blood test my CA125 and liver function were both slightly higher but she said only a bit. I had a ultrasound and trans vaginal the sonographer said she couldn't see anything sinister but there was enlarged blood vessels on my right ovary they called it cervical congestion. Im awaiting another appointment with the dr to refer my to gynaecologist. At first I was feeling positive thinking it was possibly caused by something like endometriosis but I don't get pain after sex or particularly heavy periods. They are regular and short, I'm now a few days after my ovulation 12 days to my period and I'm getting twinges in my ovaries and slight trapped wind that I've not really experienced before. I do urinate a lot too but I've always been like that. I don't know if I'm noticing things more because I'm thinking about it but I'm so scared. 😢

Try not to panic, I have a fibroid on the edge of my womb/near where my ovary used to be (I had a cyst and they removed the cyst and ovary years ago). Anyway, this was found on a u/s scan looking for fibroids in my womb, they didn't know what it was at first - cue Dr panic and 2ww referral. Scary times.

I had the blood tests, my CA125 was also raised, but I was told by the Dr that this can just indicate there's 'something going on in there'. It doesn't always indicate anything sinister.

Anyway, an MRI and another u/s and blood tests later, lots of gynae appts, it's a fibroid and no further action

I know my situation is different to yours but I just wanted to say that there are so many things that can go on with our 'bits', try not to worry. The fact they've told you they can't see anything sinister is a huge reassurance.

I can also pee for England, I've always been like it too and having had 2 DC doesn't help matters

Big hug x

Thank you so much for commenting. I think I'm worrying more now about the other symptoms like trapped wind, burping a lot and the twinges in that area. I also started a few weeks ago with a changed in my bowel movements constipated then a change to looser - I put down to being on antibiotics. There could be an explanation for all the symptoms and some I have had for a long time like the frequent urination. I know I won't know for definite until I've had my follow up/referral but I just thought I could get some reassurance if other people had had similar. Thank you for sharing your story x

You're very welcome, I think when you get it in your head that something serious could be wrong, suddenly everything points to that 'thing'. You also start hearing about it everywhere etc and convince yourself it's an 'omen'.

I panicked so much all through the above process, wound myself up into such a state and it really wasn't worth it, but it didn't matter if anyone had told me that (and they did), they still couldn't stop the thoughts in my head

Try not to worry, I know it's easier said than done but there have been positives so far such as the reassurance from the sonographer 😊
