Anyone tried Boots period delay tablets?

Just that really. I'm thinking of ordering them through an online link via Boots. Going on holiday the day my next period is due and want to delay it.
Just interested in people's experiences of them... any side effects etc?

I've not had the Boots-specific ones but I assume they're the same. They worked really well and I didn't experience any side effects at all, though I know others have mentioned bloating etc Didn't personally have that though.

I’ve done period delay norethisterone (which I later found out is a Fibroid treatment for heavy bleeding) had a week’s holiday and an investigation scan coming up, really wish I’d left it.

Very tired on hols with sharp period pains each time I took the medication to the point I wish I’d risked it - next period very real very heavy and bleed twice literally days apart.

I was later diagnosed with a Fibroid ironically (weird stomach sensation nearly been a year so not been right for a while) but there are women treated back to back without a break with Norethisterone who sing its praises. I think it’s pretty individual.

I took them prior to a trip abroad in blistering temperatures, I decided about a month before going to get them because my period’s are pretty heavy and I need to wear a towel with a tampon & couldn't stand the thought of it in 30degree heat.
It worked well for me, no symptoms whilst taking it three time a day- set an alarm on my phone for a 2pm dose. When I stopped them on the Thursday night - flew back Friday, period came with avengeance on the Monday morning- cramps 2 days with massive clots for 4 days. It was worth it though, I couldn’t have worn most of my holiday clothes if I had been on period.
I’d do it again.

If you can, take them a month or two before you need them to deregulate your cycle. I took them when I realised I was due on on my wedding day! They delayed my period but not the side effects, so I was super bloated and premenstrual!

There are two types, the side effects will be different.

Norethisterone and provera

I had provera recently for a holiday and it was fine the only day I noticed symptoms was the day I forgot to take it in the morning and took it in the evening and felt a bit PMTish.

I took Norethisterone for several months when I was younger.

Talk to the prescriber about which is more suitable.
