What makes being on your period a bit easier?

If you were on your period and could have anything you wanted, what would make it less painful or a less miserable experience?
What helps you?

I'm having my 2nd period after going without for 3.5 years. I was first pregnant then miscarried, had 1 period and fell pregnant with DS(3). I'm still breastfeeding him so my period didn't return until last month
I feel like I'm totally new to this again and my cramping is worse than I remember. I feel like a wimp!!

I've done the paracetamol and naproxen, hot water bottle and no tampon. I used to have a tens machine but not sure if that'll work? Willing to try!
I'm going to bed in a minute with a cuppa and choc biscuit

What helps you?

Hot water bottle, cinnamon tea, warm bath, massages.

Unfortunately DP is working away for another 3 weeks. And earlier he said he was lucky to be away right now when I told him I started today. So I think that's his way of telling me I wasn't the nicest to him last month 😂

But goddamn if he was here I'd be giving it a go!!

I find tampons help me. Not so sore in some ways!

Ginger, I only discovered this a few months ago. It's amazing. Make some tea with fresh or frozen ginger and it reduces the cramping so much.

You know you don't need a man for an orgasm 😂🫣😉

Hydration, although this starts during your cycle, if I haven't been looking after myself its much more painful.
Also because I have heavy periods and am always worried about leaks, a combination of Cotton's Overnight Pads and Love Luna pants as a backup and on their own for the spotting days at the end has completely changed my comfort, wish I had found them sooner.
I tend to not plan too much on the worst days and stock up on some of my favourite food.

Opiate painkillers.
Fentanyl.
I have Adeno, often end up in A&E.

Breathing properly. Staying hydrated. Rest. Being kind to yourself.

And yes, orgasm via masturbation helps too!

I like those small wheat filled bags that you heat in the microwave, I find it easier to get it onto the right part of my lower abdomen where the pain is. An orgasm also gives some temporary relief!

Haircut100900 · 12/09/2023 04:08

How does an orgasm help ? I find it makes the cramping temporarily worse and the flow too. Making the womb effectively contract (or so it feels during an orgasm) makes it even more painful. For me anyways.

I use to take buscopan for my worst period pains. The only thing that remotely worked. It's an anti spasmodic mostly used for IBS, but works a dream for period pains. You can buy it OTC.
