Extreme Hair Thinning, Hypothyroidism - normal bloods - now what :(

I have been experiencing horrible hair thinning over the past 3 or 4 months - I am medicated for hypothyroidism and went to have my regular blood test recently - I also asked them to check my B12 & ferritin - I was told the bloods are normal, so no further follow up necessary - but this doesn't resolve my issue with my hair.

I've attached my results, as I can't see which of the numbers relates to my thyroid, can anyone help? They've reduced my dosage on the prescription I just picked up, but with no explanation. Can anyone identify on my results what relates to my thyroid?

Any advice welcome

Those are just gull blood count - no thyroid, b12 or ferritin on thay page

None of those are thyroid. The main one for thyroid is TSH. Normal TSH according to the NHS is 0.5-4.5 but many people feel a bit rubbish at anything over 2.5.

I can recommend this supplement for helping hair growth if you are hypothyroid, but obviously you should also follow up the missing blood test results and the reduced dosage reason.

I just started meds for thyroid but few years ago my hair falling out in lumps and taking Iron tablets did help even if it states your iron not low. What age are you just wondering as peri-menopause can also cause this as it did with me but doctor refused twice to give me hrt and never picked up on my thyroid either. The Family planning/Wellwoman clinic doctor noticed that with my bloods that there was issue with thyroid. So got bloods done again. Try Iron for a few months and it should help you and believe me I had so much hair coming out every time I washed it was scary.

That doesn't show any iron or thyroid result.

If you are medicated your result should be on the lowest end of the 'normal' scale, not just within range. They absolutely shouldn't be reducing your dose without they have tested your TSH. Ask for THOSE results.

The NICE recommendation is to treat the symptoms, even if results within range. Ask for a second opinion and a referral.
