My dd has been prone to UTIs for the last few years - she's 20 now. M

She still gets feeling like she's has a UTI if she doesn't drink for a few hours - so she can be fine when she goes to bed then in the morning has pain and symptoms. This isn't normal! What could this be?

Tests for UTIs have come back negative.

She is contacting the GP this week too, just wondered if you'd have any better ideas!

Interstitial cystitis? I had this on and off for a few years and the symptoms sound similar to what your dad is experiencing. I tried loads of things and eliminated caffeine and other stuff for ages and nothing worked, then suddenly, it just eemed to bugger off itself (touch wood).

Dragged on for ages
Not sure what sorted it in the end

Embedded/chronic uti. Nhs testing for uti's is inaccurate and misses a lot of uti's. They even acknowledge this on their website. She could try asking GP to prescribe hiprex. IC referred to above just means painful bladder it is a description of symptoms not a diagnosis. https://cutic.co.uk/what-is-chronic-uti/ this link has more info

Has she tried d-mannose OP? I had something similar, niggly uti feelings which would flare up regularly but never any infection found. Took d-mannose for a week and had practically nothing since, if symptoms do feel like they're coming back I take one dose and it goes away. I know urologists are advising using d-mannose now so definitely worth a try.

Thank you! Will follow these up. The GP has also suggested testing for chlamydia.
