Surprise boob bruising

I'm due to have an op in the next couple of weeks due to a complex cyst chucking out rising ca125 markers. I'm due to have both ovaries and fallopians removed. Hrt is lined up and ready to go.

Over the past month I've got undressed to find severe bruising to my right boob. No pain just very colourful and taking a while to go down. Picture is of this weeks offering. Should I be fretting or can I carry on in blissful ignorance and pretend it will go away? I have massive boobs and that seems quite a large bruise to me

Ouch! That looks deep

No idea at all what the cause is?

Fenellapitstop · 24/07/2023 22:54

No injuries, not trapped it in anything, it's not painful. Just deep purple

When it comes to unexplained changes to your breasts, the last thing you should do is carry on in blissful ignorance and pretend it will go away. Especially if you are already on a pathway for gynaecological concerns. I think this is a call GP tomorrow morning job.

Spectacular bruise, though. Do you by any chance drink a lot of green tea?

No green tea, drink but only one or two a couple of times a week, previously had a b12 deficiency but that's under control at the moment

And I know the incredibly sensible grown up thing is to go to the docs but I have the fears as most of my family have died of the bad c word

So you don't really want to hear it yourself. Totally understandable. However, if it is that, the sooner you hear it the earlier you've caught it and therefore the greater the likelihood of a positive outcome. And it may not be that, anyway. I have gone to the GP three times with concerning breast symptoms. One needed further investigation. One turned out to be an infection which needed antibiotics. None were the big C. All were scary until that was confirmed.

Go on.
