A question about ageing breasts

Apart from getting droopier, my breasts haven't changed much over the years. I'm familiar with their visible irregularities. When I look at myself in profile, the outer sides of my breasts have always been smoothly rounded.

Recently I noticed that, when I lift my left arm, the smooth side of my left breast becomes irregular. Not quite puckered, more like cellulite. It still feels just as soft and smooth as ever. I do not see this on my right side.

Is this something to get checked, or a normal part of general aging droop?

I am 57, have been on HRT for 14y, up-to-date on mammograms, everything feels normal (though I only check my breasts infrequently).

I have read that changes in skin texture (orange peel) should be checked out. You've nothing to lose, I would book an appointment to put your mind at rest!

Yes, get it checked out.
Then set a reminder to check once a month.
I was a bit sloppy about checking until I found a lump, assumed it would be innocent but it turned out to be breast cancer.

You may be right.

How did you get on op, did you manage to get an appt? If they think it is worth investigating they'll rush you through under the 2 week cancer pathway.

I have been checked by GP. Not concerned.

Concerning dimpling is something called 'tethering', when the skin is being pulled by something beneath it. He could not feel anything in that area, therefore not concerned.
