Breast reduction

Hello!
I am trying to apply for exceptional funding for a breast reduction on the NHS that has already been declined unless I can provide more evidence - which I am determined to do as I can no longer cope with J CUPS at the age of 24!

i was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out providing evidence - I am looking for women to advise me as to what breast size they are, at what age, if they have managed to get a breast reduction in exceptional funding and any tips would be SO great fully accepted.

Thank you so so so much!

Hey OP, no advice unfortunately. I’m a 32JJ and feel your pain. I was denied nhs support as my bmi was high. They didn’t seem to grasp the fact that my bmi is massively pushed up because of the weight of my breasts!! Wishing you lots of luck

I also applied, for a reduction on NHS and got declined. I am a 34L cup size. I have re-applied, and I was advised to write a personal statement and explain all the pain I am going through. I am hoping I get accepted this time.

Neck pain, upper back pain, difficulty sleeping (needing to reposition yourself/the girls), skin concerns (bra chaffing, redness, occasional break in the skin due to straps, heat rash).
limitation to exercise, financial cost of specialty bras.
hopefully people can add in more valid points.
at 62 I simply paid and had one done privately.

I got one on the nhs around about 2007 I was optimistically wearing a GG but was probably bigger. I had a number of reasons for wanting it that were put forward to the funding people.
back pain - declined
shoulder pain and injury from the bra due to weight - declined
size affecting ability to do any reasonable exercise - declined
right breast bigger than left, a reason suggested by the consultant but I genuinely didn’t care about - accepted due to mental health reasons of not being symmetrical 😵‍💫
i think the criteria has been tightened significantly since.

to the pp that mentioned bmi it didn’t massively impact on the weight overall maybe around 5lbs total across the 2. I reduced to a DD

To anyone from the NHS funding people that will probably never read this post, accepting that application 15 years ago I estimate has saved the nhs at least double the initial cost already. I am able to walk regularly I swim on average 1.5 miles a week, often more, had I not been able to have it I would be much less mobile as keeping active with oversized boobs is hard so I reckon with morbid obesity that I’m sure I would have by now as I struggle with my weight anyway I estimate it will have repaid you many fold by the time I die hopefully of an active old age.

@LouLo1998 how did you get on ? I've been to the gps today who agreed my boobs are impacting my life massively. She's never done a referral for breast reduction before but she's going to check the guidelines and if meet them refer me

Good luck! Have you re applied? What was the outcome?xx

Hiya, also trying to prove that I’m ’clinically exceptional’ when actually most people with my size breasts are probably in pain.
Did you manage to get a breast reduction in the end?
