Cervix position

Hello a bit tmi but since being diagnosed with uterine prolapse I can feel my cervix by the second knuckle up (on a good day) I’m constantly worrying it’s getting worse. I know your not meant to check up there but I know some woman have to when they use moon cups. Am I really abnormal? Is there anyone in here who has a low cervix and that’s normal for them?

I don’t have a prolapse, have never given birth, and can easily feel my cervix.

My advice would be to stop rummaging though - you might not help the problem, and you don’t want to introduce bacteria up there!

Whats the plan to treat the prolapse?

I’ve been getting obsessed it’s not healthy :( causing me anxiety! I’m currently doing physio and pelvic exercises but making no difference atm :( how many cm would you say yours is inside ? I feel abnormal @Blankspace4

Im only aware due to fertility testing. However it’s not going to help you prodding around - keep going with the exercises and if no improvement in the way it feels in a couple of months, back to the doc?

Oh are you sure that’s not a prolapse ?! That’s the same as mine! Makes me very self conscious and sec hurts!

I have a uterus prolapse (they say mild, but my symptoms are anything but - I feel like my womb is going to fall out my vagina at times so bad it's difficult to walk, and get dragging lower back ache - only since this happened).

My cervix is 3-4 cm in as well, and I don't check often (squeamish). It used to be higher for sure and I had no symptoms then.

I have a retroverted womb though and think it presses back on my bowel, causing possible rectocele back wall prolapse as well.

Also I think my uterus (cause it's retroverted), is pulling on my ligaments which attach it to the spine.

Sex is more uncomfortable than it used to be also.

Have you been offered surgery @Bella1994 ?? I've done physio and do the exercises too but the physio said my muscle strength is strong, it's weak ligaments the problem, which exercise can't fix. I've been referred to pessary clinic, but I am not sure about them. Also scared of surgery (IF they would even agree), although it can work well I know it can also fail.

I've had 2 children the youngest 13 years ago, but both by c-section with no labour.

When I first discovered my prolapses ten years ago I was certain that they'd get worse each day until everything eventually fell out (which I assumed would only be a matter of a year or two). Then I read this study that looked at post-menopausal women with prolapses and it found that contrary to popular belief, prolapses didn't actually get much worse. They tended to stay the same, some actually improved. It really put my mind at rest.

Well pre-menopause women have oestrogen which really strengthens the tissues of the vaginal walls making prolapses less symptomatic. Many women (they say 50%) have prolapses after childbirth but they don't even notice and they heal up a great deal afterwards.
A lot of women only notice prolapses post-menopause when they stop producing oestrogen. The vaginal walls weaken and the prolapses bulge in more and become symptomatic.
That's why I found that study on post-menopausal women so encouraging. I thought it was all downhill for prolapses after menopause but actually they found they generally remain stable.
I'm sure it's the same (or better) for pre-menopausal women. Of course it depends on how severe your prolapse is and lifestyle (too much constipation or heavy lifting will always worsen prolapses). I think as long as you're mindful of your prolapses and take steps not to worsen them they should stay the same. I'm pre-menopausal at 48 (although perimenopausal) and mine have only improved in the last 10 years without me doing much about it!

Sorry just see this I haven’t been offered surgery I begged for it and they said no! I’ve been given pills for constipation which don’t even work and told to get on with it! I’m still fighting my case I feel broken x
