Hi, just looking for advice. My daughter has several activities over the next few months which involve camping, D of E and school holiday - several times this is going to coincide with her period. Has anyone used Norethisterone or similar for a 15 year old before? Did you buy online? When I've looked it requires DOB to be over 16. Any advice or previous experience greatly received.

My DD got it from the GP aged 12. Didn't need to use it in the end though.
Some people take it without any trouble, but I think it can make your period a bit erratic for a few months.

DD1 had it prescribed, but actually it wasn't sufficiently effective so went on the pill from y10 to manage timings of periods.

I had it from about that age, and still use it now at the age of 30.
Im sure you just get a prescription from the GP, although now I just order it from online pharmacy.

It can cause a very nasty period after you’ve taken it, so just be aware of that.

You can't use it more than one month without a break. I used it twice last year and had the most terrible period the month after both times

It didn't agree with me at all. When I used it to kick start a cycle in order to start ivf treatment (higher dose) it made me unbelievably angry

When I was prescribed it as a pill it played merry hell with my periods.

Can she try it out before she needs it to see where she is with it??

My 4 dds have taken norethisterone at age 15 when attending festivals and school activities, no problems but heavy painful period afterwards. They say it was worth it.
