Hi

I need support and advice I’m going to make an appointment but you all know how long it takes here
so 3 weeks before,I started having some kind of pinching pricking or say burning pains in my chest. They are not constant but comes and goes on during the day. It’s been a while and they are not improving. Any thoughts?
I have never had a heart burn before so really hard to know what’s wrong with me.
I’m now really scared.

It sounds like indigestion. Is it affected by what you eat or what time you eat?

Easy thing to try while you’re waiting for an appointment would be some antacids. Definitely available without a prescription at a pharmacy. Not dangerous to take for a while even if it turns out to be something else. Have a chat with a pharmacist and book a gp appointment.

Sounds very much like heartburn or gastritis. Both (if they are ongoing) are symptoms of things like h.pylori infection which is very very common and easily treatable with antibiotics and acid inhibitors.

Costacondritis? Not sure if I've spelled that correctly?

Get some Gaviscon and see if they improves things.

Chest pain needs to be checked out though so try and get an appt or ring 111.

Did you try antacids?
Occasional heartburn is not a big deal. Chronic heartburn over a long period of time can put you at risk for cancer of the oesophagus. Basically it’s not great if a muscle tube keeps getting bathed in acid. Trying some antacids before your gp appointment could help with the diagnosis. - If you get very quick relief using antacids, it’s probably heartburn. If they make no difference, it’s probably something else.
Heartburn can happy if you eat too much, but also if the valve into your stomach isn’t working so well. Loads of things can affect that. I get chronic heartburn during pregnancy because of the hormones that make all your connective tissue relax.
