Something from the inside of my vagina is hanging out- anyone else experience this after birth?

Sorry if this is far too much detail and a long shot, but I am wondering if any other woman has had a similar thing happen to them and know what it is?

I went to go in the shower the other day and I felt something hanging out of my vagina. I had a look with a mirror and it looks like some sort of fleshy tag hanging out. There are also two other of fleshy round bits inside.

They aren't big (no bigger than my pinky fingernail) but were never there before! I'm assuming it's likely linked to the fact I had a vaginal birth 9 months ago..? However I didn't have a traumatic birth or any interceptions and I didn't even tear.

I have seen the out of hours doctor who has confirmed it isn't a prolapse, but thinks it's Vaginal Mucosa. I've googled but can't find much on this... she said it's something to do with the vaginal wall and maybe it's weaker now that I have had a baby, so it's hanging down?

I have to call the doctors again on Tuesday for a further investigation as the doctor wasn't 100% and didn't have all the equipment.

Has anyone else had something similar to this?

@karrliz I realise this post was a long time ago but on the off chance you see this - did you ever discover what this was? And how are things feeling and looking two years on?

I’m 12 weeks postpartum and have exactly what you’ve described with the pink fleshy pieces hanging out. I’m feeling really low about it as GP has provided no explanation and I can’t find anything online that sounds similar. Just lots of people saying everything was back to normal by this point.

I had a vaginal birth which was smooth until pushing. I then pushed for a long time and ended up with an episiotomy which I didn’t want, was done in a weird position and was stitched up badly. I’d just like to know whether the tissue is from excessive pushing or something to do with the bad episiotomy.
