Hi

I had a baby 2.5 years ago and today when I was going for a wee I noticed something coming out of my vagina. I used a mirror to have a look and saw all of these lumps. They don't hurt at all and I haven't been sexually actively for around 6 months.

I have a Dr’s appointment tomorrow, but of course I'm very worried. Has anyone had similar?

Looks like scar tissue to me, did you tear and have stitches?

LanaDelRaybans · 13/03/2023 12:29

I can't work out what way round that is meant to be. Some form of prolapse, I imagine?

No, I didn't tear or have stitches. The whole labour took 30 hours and was a natural vaginal birth, I was wondering if it could be damage, but like I said I gave birth almost 3 years ago and I've only just noticed it x

Ah sorry, the bottom of the pic (right hand bottom area) is the bottom of my vagina if that makes sense?

It's possible you have a slight prolapse and the scar tissue has protuded. Try not to worry OP

I have things like that inside my vagina, had many smears and what not and no one has ever mentioned it being unusual. If yours are protruding out it may be that you need to work on your pelvic floor.

Yeah, my pelvic floor is weak. I have just started working on it and lifting weights again also. I wonder if weight lifting has caused everything to come down? I know it sounds silly, but it's pressure and pushing isn't it?

That could well have had a hand in it, particularly if you have been squatting or deadlifting.

I got a kegel8 tight and tone which did wonders for my pelvic floor.

WolfFoxHare · 13/03/2023 16:04

Weight lifting could definitely make a prolapse worse. I had prolapse surgery years ago and was warned against lifting anything above a certain weight as it could cause a relapse.

Ahh really? I didn't ever suffer with anything like this until now and I'm just so upset :( will it get better on it's own?

Thanks so much, I've just bought one!!

It may improve a bit with time, especially if you tone up your pelvic floor. It depends what grade prolapse it is. If it’s actually poking out as you stand up, it’s unlikely that it will completely resolve itself by you doing pelvic floor exercises, unfortunately. You should visit your GP and ask for a gynae referral (though if you don’t have private insurance, you may have a while to wait - spending that time working on your kegels etc would be a good idea), as nobody can really tell you the likely longterm prognosis without a physical exam. I’m sorry, OP. I found it extremely upsetting when I found out about my prolapse, so much sympathy if you feel distressed. Feel free to PM me if you have questions about my experience of surgery etc.

Thankyou so much. I've got the Dr’s tomorrow and thankfully I've got health care insurance. How long was your recovery from surgery and how long after did you have to wait until you were intimate again?

It just looks like scar tissue to me, I wouldn’t worry if you haven’t had any heaviness/dragging. Keep at pelvic floor exercises and do a squeeze and hold when you’re lifting heavy weight.

Thanks, i went to the Dr’s and it's my internal wall coming down (like a prolapse) I've been referred to a gynaecologist for intervention

@Lotusflower92 really sorry to hear that. I hope you get to see the gynaecologist soon, that she is helpful and that she suggests some treatment. Don’t lift any heavy weights until you’ve seen her and asked her advice.

PretzelBite · 15/03/2023 08:04

Sorry to hear that @Lotusflower92 hope the gyne appointment goes well xx
