Constant bleeding!

Looking for advice/similar experiences. I've been having significantly heavier bleeding over the past few years (I'm 46). I've had a hysteroscopy and colposcopy last year after an ultrasound showed a very thick uterine lining which were both clear. Have tried tranexamic acid (didn't work), mirena(which 'self-expelled') and the pop and norethiserone (which both left me feeling nauseous/depressed). As well as incredibly heavy periods I'm now constantly bleeding, every single day. I'm at my wits end and utterly fed up of it all Have another appt with the hospital gynaecologist in a week or so but they don't want to do a hysterectomy or ablation. Are there any other options? Is this normal in perimenopause and will it end soon? Any experiences of advice appreciated, thank you!

Talk to your GP about endometrial ablation. It has changed my life.

Could it be fibroids? Sounds awful, so sorry you're going through this.

I had such issues too.

Why don't they want to do an ablation or hysterectomy?. In my case the only measure that stopped my constant peri menopausal bleeding was ablation surgery.

Check with GP first but Naproxen was a life changer for me for menorrhagic periods. I have PCOS so they'd come on a random and last for weeks. Very heavy and crampy.

I take 1000mg (2 tablets) of Naproxen on day 1 of the period and by day 2 it is significantly lighter. I sometimes take 2 more day 2 but usually don't need to. Periods are lighter and shorter. Sometimes even stop.

It's worth asking if this would be suitable for you?

I had similar, and my Mirena also expelled itself.

I had fibroids mainly within the uterine muscle wall but had one growing inside the uterus. I had an op where they were removed and cauterised that fibroid and a new Mirena inserted as part of the procedure. I didn't have any further issues following that.

Thanks for your replies. I think they are reluctant to go down the ablation/hysterectomy route due to complications and cost. I have adenomyosis and suspected endometriosis so I don't know if this makes a difference. All I know is that I'm utterly fed up of it all!
