Pelvic floor help

Think I have the start of a prolapse, wondering if anyone has bought one of the devices to help strengthen your pelvic floor and if they are worth it/any recommendations as to which one please

If I were you I would go to a physio first. Or try "Restore Your Core".

There's nothing wrong with the devices, but they are only working on one muscle group, the same way as doing bicep curls gives you strong biceps. Prolapses are generally caused by your body ineffectively managing internal pressure. Your issue may not be weak muscles, but some muscles working too much and others too little or some muscles being too tight.

I would also think about your oestrogen levels, as that has a huge effect on pelvic floor function.

I agree, go and see a specialist physio first who I can assume will advise you on what is going on.

I self-referred to a Continence Clinic. If you need to do pelvic floor exercises they will make sure you are doing them properly. I don't think you necessarily need to pay out for gadgets - doing the exercises consistently will help with pelvic floor strength, but don't expect a quick fix. I got the NHS Sqeezy app - it's £2.99 or something, but I found it really helpful.

SqueezyApp is absolutely the best place to start. Daily exercises for 12 weeks and if you haven't had significant improvement see a pelvic health physio

Thank you for the advice, looks like a trip to physio then!

Definitely squeezy app and GP referral to specialist physio.

Another vote for the Squeezy app. I rushed and bought the Kegel 8 machine and wish I’d never bothered. A pelvic health physio can monitor your muscle strength and give you exercises.

Exactly this.

I've been seeing a pelvic floor physio who has pointed me in the right direction with the squeezy app and checks my progress at appointments.

The kegel 8 machine is still in the box but physio appointments have been so worth it for me.

Just do the exercises (everyday) you might not even need the physio referral
