Hysterectomy at 31

Hi ladies,

I have a prolapse following my second child; he is now 3 months.

I do not want to live with this as I am an active mother running and jumping and playing with my toddler and want to continue to be this parent.

Does anyone have any stories about hysterectomy at this age?

Thanks ☺️

My daughter is 27 and has been on the waiting list now since April last year, no beds being the hold up.

She has had complications with endometriosis and born with a condition called unicornuate uterus. She hasn’t and won’t be able to have any children, but she’s dealt with this as she currently has no quality of life and constantly bleeding.

She will be keeping her ovaries, so won’t immediately go into menopause. It’s been a roller coaster ride for 6 years now and she’s had enough.

You’ve been blessed with a beautiful baby as I was. I also suffered with endometriosis, so was very happy to conceive naturally in my late twenties. All the best, take care.

Following this. I’m 33 and have completed my family. I’ve just started struggling with prolapse (I think of my bladder) but also have such heavy periods I have to take medication. Part of me wonders about having a hysterectomy and the prolapse sorted now too.

how are you managing your prolapse. Mine is getting me down

At 3 months things will improve surely? I would see a specialist physio and give it time. I have read that hysterectomy can make things worse because the uterus supports bladder and bowel?

But get at least two medical opinions if you can. You have my sympathy, prolapses can really effect mental health.

Hi ladies,

I have seen a specialist physio who is very optimistic. My prolapse is the womb and bladder, stage 2 and she thinks with weekly visits and consistent and a lot of pelvic floor exercises daily she can fix it.

I'm extremely lucky and so, so grateful. I would definitely recommend a women's health physio, she is fantastic.

@Snippit I hope everything works out for your daughter, it sounds like it will be a huge relief to her.

@bbb2019 it really does take a toll on your mental health 🙁 have you been seen by a woman's health physio?
