Itchiness

Grateful for any advice… for the last few days (since my period finished) my whole vulva has been insanely itchy. It seems to mostly be around my urethra, but the whole area is unnaturally bright pink and looks tight and sore. Sometimes the itchiness is so bad that if I’m out I have to stop and it’s almost like being in pain it’s so unbearable. No smells/discharge or anything else, and isn’t sex related.

It seems to be slightly better this evening but am nervous about having to go out tomorrow evening. Not going to be able to speak to a doctor for a good few days.

Anyone any ideas?!

Vagisil would help I am sure.

Bacterial vaginosis
Lichen sclerosis
Menopause
Thrush

It could be anything. Could you see the Dr? I know that's a joke at the moment.

When I had papercut fanny steroid cream helped it.

I'd try Canesten cream in the first place. It'll moisturise and soothe it even if it isn't thrush

I’m fairly certain it’s not thrush as no discharge, and it’s not menopause. Will get some cream tomorrow and hope that it helps soon…

Did you use different san pro from your usual? It could be a skin irritation from a new brand. Scented ones in particular are terrible for causing reactions.

The current trend for scented toilet roll and panty liners is a minefield. I am allergic to so many things these days. It is worth checking all products, even if you haven't changed anything, manufacturers change formula all the time. Especially things like washing powder. Sudocrem is quite soothing or something bland like epaderm. You could take an antihistamine tablet and see if it helps. Then you would know if it is an allergic reaction.

You can buy a Canisten test in the pharmacy now for various problems.

I had this and didn't think it was thrush as no discharge, hurt like an absolute bugger and itched, only relief I got was sitting on an ice pack but a test came back that it was so I'd treat as thrush regardless and see if it clears it up.
