Please help.
I have pmdd and it's getting worse. The doctors won't give me the pill Yaz or Lucette because I have migraine with aura. They said there's absolutely nothing they can do for me due to the migraine.

As someone with migraine with aura who had the misfortune to be prescribed multiple birth control pills before they figured out to stop doing that, I have developed a very strong opinion that birth control pills are a necessary evil. I am glad they exist for the women who want to risk taking them, but you could never convince me to try one again, no matter how bad my periods get. I also would never recommend them to any woman. The side effects were horrific.

not sure what symptoms you are having, but have you asked about trying anti-depressants? Not as direct an approach, but maybe would help stabilize.

Could you take the progesterone only pill? I've been on it due to age and also have migraines with aura, it doesn't solve them (I need separate meds for that) but it doesn't make them worse, seems more stable hormone-wise.

The issue is increased stroke risk, so you need an alternative way to manage the hormones and the migraines. Have you used preventive (e.g. beta-blockers, some low dose epilepsy meds)? Tryptans? Even just soluble aspirin plus Buccastem?

Haver you tried the depo injection? I have migraines with aura, pmdd and like you have never been able to find anything that helps. Depo did only in that itt stopped the cyclical mood changes with inevitable migraines.

The best thing for me has been the oesyrogen only part of HRT, have felt more'normal' than I had for years.

In the absence of medical help I did find a benefit in closely tracking my cycles so I knew when to expect things getting bad and could pre empt it, giving up alcohol made a massive difference as did getting outside into nature and moving.
