Anyone had this as they got older?

I'll need to give this a few months to see if there is a definite pattern, but i feel that in the lead up to last months and this months periods, I've been experiencing joint pain. In particular, in my joints on my right side - elbow, wrist, ankle.

Am I imagining this? Is it a thing?

I posted last week as for the first time that I can recall, I noticed a small bleed during periods. Just one wipe, but no obvious reason.

I'm 40. Are these things possibly connected, or am I paranoid about getting older?

I'm 31 and for the last year occasionally the day or 2 before my period I get very painful knee pain. It mostly goes away when the period starts.

I'm also being investigated for endometriosis.

No aches related to age by itself. Always from obvious injury, overuse, activity.

Sorry, missed these replies. Thank you.

May well just be age, I suppose. I guess I'll just see if there is a pattern over the coming months. I'm used to the achy back at this time of the month, but not this.

The human body is strange beast. Especially the female one!

Those can both be symptoms of perimenopause. There are oestrogen receptors in every cell of our body and in cartilage it plays a role in how hydrated the cartilage is. So if your levels are not as they usually are the cartilage can be less plump with hydration and that can cause the joint pain. It's very common especially in the wrists for whatever reason but anywhere really.
At 40 you could be starting perimenopause (it can rumble on for 10 years before you become menopausal).
Maybe do a bit of research on that and look into hrt so you are prepared to consider it should you decide it is worth a conversation with doctor.

Menopause
Aching joints is a big symptom
You need to start taking collagen, start strength training and massively increase your protein intake

Yes and it was peri menopause. I do actually have a congenital spine defect but this was different. After menopause it went as quickly as it came. I didn’t have HRT.
