Evening

Gross subject but would love some advice.

has anyone used a compeed blister plaster ? If so was wondering what colour the inside was when it fell off.

mine was brown / yellow and smelt terrible and wondering if that’s normal.

thanks 🙏

That is an infection. I got a bad one years ago. Is it on the mend? If not get a pharmacist to look at it.

Would add, in retrospect I should have had antibiotics.

I was 19 and an idiot and soaked my whole foot in Dettol and hoped it would go away. I had red lines tracking out of it all over my foot! Such an idiot. Luckily I had the immune system of an ox and was fine.

I did once, it was awful, turns out I was allergic to blister plasters!

Compeeds are a type of hydrocolloid that have gelatine in. That's probably what the smell is. Yellow/brown exudate is also normal.

Signs of infection are if the wound has increasing redness and is hot to the touch.

If you are worried stop using the compeed and allow the wound to air dry. It will probably take a little longer to heal that way as wounds heal better in a moist environment. But air drying will reduce the exudate and stop the smell.

Yup, totally normal with compeed
