What's the best hormone medicine you have taken for your endometriosis? Debating whether to go back on the pill, get the implant, or have the injection. I really don't fancy having the coil fitted

I found sayana press injection great for 2 years. Apparently its very odd for endo to grow whilst on it but mine did extensively last year. My consultant recommended me to stay on it as part of my treatment. Gp has also changed my pain killers and added another medication to try help as im waiting to see a consultant as its built up again.

I was only ever offered the mirena coil as a treatment for my very aggressive endo. To be fair it changed my life for the better and I've not had any symptoms ( or bleeding) for over 16 years now. I always have it fitted/replaced under a general anaesthetic.

I used to have the implant in my arm, it was great. No periods for the first 6 months and then after they were really light and not painful. Since having the implant out my periods are still not as bad as they were. Pain is manageable with ibuprofen whereas before I would be fainting and nauseous with pain. I’m having a break from hormonal contraceptives for now, but honestly the implant was fab… I also didn’t gain any weight on the implant unlike all the various pills I have tried and I had no PMS on it too. I highly recommend them!

@AngelsWithSilverWings thanks for sharing. I had it fitted and it gave me awful vertigo. As soon as I had it out the vertigo went. Very strange but completely put me off.

@lurkinglittleladybug no pms sounds amazing!

@Perpetualstateofchaos I'm sorry to hear yours has grown back! It's a bloody awful thing to suffer with!
