I'm 26 years old, I have a 20 months old son and 9 days ago I very sadly had a miscarriage at between 4 weeks pregnant.
This week has been really and for me to say the least.
Last year I had my smear test and tested HPV positive, 3 weeks ago I had another smear and had my results on Wednesday that I'm high risk HPV, due to my miscarriage I can't been seen until 9th jan as I have to wait 6 weeks now.

Today me and my partner had sex for the first time, I havnt bled for 3 days. After sex I lost alot of blood and now I'm really really concerned that I may have something more serious wrong with me.
The only thing that I'm having is I'm tired a lot and I'm having headaches not really bad but still having them. I know this can be due to miscarriage maybe I don't know!

I'm so confused and my head has just been all over the place for last week, I'm going to call me gp first thing tomorrow to request to be seen before had due to the bleeding today but has anyone else had anything like this and it was nothing to worry about? I'm hoping they can just burn away cells that are there and I can move on from this

Hi lovely,

Firstly sorry you have been through such an awful time lately. I just wanted to put your mind at rest as I'm currently going through my own gynae issues so have researched this.

It is highly unlikely anything sinister is wrong with you. HPV can change cells but it is an extremely slow process and it takes on average 8-10 years for HPV to turn cells cancerous.

At the most, you may have precancerous cells which the doctor can zapp away and there will be no more to it. Of course, I would speak to a GP about the bleeding but I suspect it is much more likely due to hormones and all the stress you have been under lately, rather than anything dangerous. Smears are done every 3 years and every year if abnormalities are found for this very reason - because it takes a while for these things to turn bad. Smears are a preventative and it's great that yours has picked this up now and you can get it sorted in Jan. Try not to worry about it and be kind to yourself xx

Honestly this had brought me to tears of relief! Thank you so so much! I did not know that about it taking 8-10 years so thank you.

I've been so concerned that this caused my miscarriage and I'm seriously poorly.

I hope you also get your problems sorted too x
Again, thank you x

Hi,
I am looking for some advice.
I went for my 12 week scan on Friday last week and was told there was no heartbeat and my baby stopped growing at 8 weeks pregnant. I had my miscarriage on Saturday where I passed 3/4 of my pregnancy and the foetus.
I did pass a lot of blood and blood clots and I went lightheaded but felt fine that night.
On Monday night, I had to go to A&E as when I went to the toilet and noticed what looked like a huge clot that was stuck and wouldn’t pass regardless what I tried. Therefore, I went to A&E where they removed this for me. It turned out to be the remaining tissue of the pregnancy but the doctor did say that all the pregnancy tissue had been removed and there was nothing left.
I did bleed for a few days after but have recently stopped bleeding now.
However, since Tuesday morning I have woken up with severe headaches to the point they feel like migraines.

Is this normal after a miscarriage to experience headaches? I have read on other chats on this website that it can be to do with changes in hormones post miscarriage.
