Quite possibly not the right name for them...!!! Those machines that you use to help your pelvic floor

I've seen squeezy, perfit, kegel 8

And I am confused !

Has anybody used them and have any relevant experience or information that would help me select one please?

Thanks

When I got my prolapse I ended up being referred to a special department via gynaecology. They got me to use this brand daily for 6-8 weeks and then signed me off but you could order it to continue to use at home. I used it for a further 4 months and I felt a lot better. I should go back on it though Blush

Its the purple one btw

I had that Neurotrac one too, also given to me my gynae physio. Was brilliant.

The NHS Squeezy App is I good place to start I was amazed at the benefits in two weeks. No gadget needed (and my pelvic floor was being held up by my knickers prior but don’t tell anyone!)

I bought a cheap version off ebay as I couldn't afford the kegel 8, unfinished the probe ot came with contained nickel which I'm allergic to so I had to buy a propper probe off the kegel 8 website, and a separate connector so it would actually fit the machine! ( so ended up spending almost as much as I would have on a kegel 8 anyway 🙄). Anyway, it was well worth the money and I've noticed loads of improvement in the strength and tone of my pelvic floor!

LavenderAndBluebells · 22/11/2022 21:39

Unfortunately the probe it came with

That should say!!!

I have prolapse and was persuaded by the physio to buy the Elvie device. I think it was 200 quid.

Never used it once. I just could not ever find the opportunity to lay naked on my bed, privately and without interruption, long enough to do the exercises.

After my 1st birth and issues (bladder prolapse but stage 1 thank goodness) private gynaecologist and physio recommended Neen Pericalm. Its the one they used. You buy the probe separately. It was worth it and it did really help strengthen my pelvic floor. You have to do it every day for about 30 minutes.

The Innovo is brilliant, expensive but just brilliant, could not recommend it highly enough. Used it post natally and pre natally to strengthen my floor before falling preg with dc2. You wear shorts and it connects to a machine and does the pelvic floor contraction exercises for you. You just plug in, lie back and watch TV for half hour, v easy

Livemenot · 30/01/2023 03:58

Thank you for your advice @Mumtumtastic I have only tried ‘machines’ at some private clinics where you have to sit and feel the pulses from the ‘chair’. I wonder if it’s similar.

Softpebbles · 31/01/2023 15:04

I saw a pelvic floor therapist and she didn’t really recommend the machines (other than Evie?!).

However since seeing her I saw an advert for some weighted balls and bought them. They have been brilliant - albeit I have stuck to it and used them everyday. They are called secret whispers. I find using them when I shower and doing the exercises when I get out the most beneficial as no one is going to disturb me!

Only £40 too!

Agree. I'd definitely recommend the Innovo shorts too.
