3 weeks now I’m having vaginal issues. It constantly smells of onions 😳 no matter how much I wash down there, within half an hour the smell is back.
I haven’t changed my diet. The only change has been that I suffered I bad bout of thrush in mid August, then period straight after.
I have tried Balance Activ pessaries for a week but the smell has come right back as soon as the course was finished.

any advice would be appreciated.

thank you 😊

Have you called your GP? That's the first thing to do. It could be BV but you need to seek medical advice

Josette77 · 17/10/2022 07:29

I think BV too. See your doc

Have a tried a few times but gave up, it’s impossible to get through at the moment. I will try again today.

I think you can buy a BV testing kit at a pharmacy and also treatment if it is confirmed - quicker than GP.....

Thank you, will pop into the pharmacy today.

If you have a vag problem, make an appointment with the Sexual Health clinic - you don't need a referral from your GP, book direct. You will see someone much quicker and they will be the experts.

I've put this on here once before this week so sorry to repeat myself. It just frustrates me when women have gynae problems and either can't get hold of a GP, the GP fobs them off or the GP doesn't know what they're doing.

It may not be diet related - things like scented soap products can cause issues, as can having baths rather than showers. Any soap is best avoided around the vulva - a directional shower should be all you need
