Achey joints from period

Hi
so last month I got my first period since having my third child, who is now 2 years and 4 months. So quite a long time without a period.

So a couple of days before the period came I had terribly achey legs, hard to sleep from the ache. Then period started, and ache went away. So I assumed linked to period
now it’s been nearly a month, and I have the most achey knee again, only on one side this time, really struggling to stand for long but also sleeping is really difficult. (It’s only been 2 days so far, but you know, still not nice)
i think period should start this week, depending on whether or not I will be “regular”, not sure since it’s been so long since periods.

I’ve never had joint pain from periods before. Just wondering if anyone else has this? Or have heard of it? Would you bother the GP with this? Or it’s normal and get used to it?

How old are you? I’ve started getting achy joints before my period alongside other perimenopaisal symptoms (I’m 45) - I think due to crashing Oestrogen (sp?) levels. Am about to make a Drs appointment to discuss HRT.

I’m 38, so yeah it could be perimenipausal (can’t spell) what are your other symptoms if you don’t mind me asking?

Rage, and a headache - both arrive predictably a day or two before my period. Along with achy joints. Yours could be something else though. - worth checking with your gp.
