Hi I’m 27. I have a 1 year old. Didn’t feel right from giving birth. Went to the GP today and she said my cervix was very low and has done me a referral letter. I think I have a rectocele (self diagnosed) and uterine prolapse. It is worse at the end of the day. Sex isn’t great I’ve become a lot looser even thou I do kegals daily. I want another child but not if it means I have to live with this! Has anyone had surgery? Anyone has successfull story’s? What’s recovery like with a child? How long did you wait in nhs ? Will they let you have surgery when young (ish) it’s not just physical it’s destroying me mentally. I’d rather risk surgery than live with this

I don't have any solutions but I have a prolapsed uterus also and it is miserable, I have fibroids and my lower back is agony from it all.

I hope you get some answers soon

@Bridget944 Your GP has referred you to a gynaecologist for an assessment, which is good, and she might also arrange women's physio for you as well to see if exercises can help.

You can have surgery at your age but they usually want to wait until your family is compete although further births could be managed with a C-section (although the pelvic floor can still take the strain during pregnancy.)

Surgery is usually very successful if it's done properly.

In the meantime you can help yourself by not lifting anything heavy (over approx 6kgs), not running or jogging or doing any high impact exercises.

You might have the option of having a ring pessary fitted to hold things up (this is a temporary solution) while you are hoping to have another child.

Don't worry too much. This is very common and once you see the consultant they will explain your options.

I’ve just been diagnosed also with the exact same and it’s awful! I’m hoping to have a private assessment done (quicker than nhs) and a plan of action in place and am looking for 1:1 Pilates. Wishing you luck!

Hi OP,

I'm curious to find out if you have had any answers or reviews? I hope you've had some positive answers

I'm 31 with a prolapse of some sort, not entirely sure yet and awaiting review.
