My teenage girl seems to think going out in the sun will giver her cancer. Surely this is not the case as long as you're careful. Vit D is essential for health & longevity 🤔

I think a dermatologist would say even having a tan is evidence of DNA damage to skin cells. I’m not sure how realistic it is to avoid a tan completely though.

My approach is to avoid going pink/burning which I’m pretty careful about, there’s a lot of skin cancer in my family.

Is your daughter unusually anxious, this sounds quite extreme.

Well at least it’s not the online crap which says a tan is healthy!

But I agree getting some sun exposure without burning is important for Vit D. I was so careful in the sun I ended up deficient.
